November 21, 2024

The participation of Turkish technology entrepreneurs, who aim to open up to global markets in cooperation with İSTKA, İZKA, BEBKA and BAKA, under the coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and Ankara Development Agency (ANKARAKA), was supported in the event to be held in Lisbon. Participation was achieved with 24 startups selected as a result of the evaluation among the startups that applied within the scope of the Call for Participation in Global Entrepreneurship Events announced in this context.

ANKARAKA provided stand installation, stand location and event entry ticket support to 24 startups participating in Web Summit Lisbon. Web Summit, which started with the opening event on the first day, was held between 11-14 November. Each day, 8 startups exhibited their products at Web Summit. Within the scope of the call, 24 startups and 56 entrepreneurs representing these startups participated in order to find investors, exhibit and commercialize their products. In addition, representatives of 22 stakeholder organizations (Teknokent, Tekmer, GSYF, Bank, etc.) participated in the event with the coordination and invitation of the agency.

Drawing attention to the success of Turkish technology startups in the international arena, ANKARAKA Secretary General Duhan Kalkan stated that Web Summit 2024 contributes to Turkey's technology ecosystem and said, "Web Summit 2024, one of the most prestigious entrepreneurship events in the world, is a big event that allows Turkish technology startups to make a splash in the international arena." It has been an opportunity. As ANKARAKA, we are proud to have brought the technological potential of our Turkish entrepreneurs to the world. This event contributed to the realization of the national technology move. It has been an important step in representing Turkish technology in the global arena and establishing new collaborations. We will follow the investments and customer connections established at Web Summit by the entrepreneurs we support as five development agencies under the coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Technology.  “We will continue to provide all kinds of support for the development of our entrepreneurship ecosystem.” he said.

Among the achievements of Web Summit 2024, which is held on November 11-14, one of our fintech startups attracted the attention of an international investment fund participating from Saudi Arabia by offering a credit method during product sales and held its first cooperation meeting.

Our entrepreneur, who develops software in the field of robotic systems, decided to hold a bilateral cooperation meeting with Samsung and then continue negotiations on the integration of her products.

Our entrepreneur, who offers event services, decided to continue online meetings by receiving a field survey offer from Norway and Sweden and had the opportunity to expand her services to Scandinavian countries.

In addition, other entrepreneurs at our stand met with the officials of the participating companies from the Netherlands, Portugal, Estonia, Germany and Spain and had their first discussions about establishing a solution partnership model and accessing new markets.

They also established contact with investors by having their first meetings with Domino Ventures, Yıldız Ventures, İnci Holding, Tera Portföy, Albaraka, Kuveytürk and Insha Ventures funds, which are among our stakeholders.

Additionally, 16 of our entrepreneurs participated in Slush. 50 of our entrepreneurs will participate in CES and 24 entrepreneurs will participate in Web Summit Qatar in 2025. In cooperation with our 5 Development Agencies, our entrepreneurs are supported every year by acting as a bridge for our entrepreneurs trying to expand into world markets.

Our Ministry's Turcorn brand was exhibited in the international arena for the second time in Lisbon by participating in Web Summit 2024 with the support of 5 Development Agencies under the coordination of the General Directorate of Development Agencies of the Ministry of Industry and Technology.
