Focusing on Urban Agriculture as Ankara Development Agency

Ankara Development Agency continues its activities focusing on urban agriculture. Local actors and experts came together in this month's session of the studies carried out within the scope of the New Generation Rural Development Results-Oriented Program. The focus group meeting held to prepare strategies specific to Ankara in urban agriculture was held on October 2, 2024 at Ankara Development Agency. The officials from district agriculture and forestry directorates, municipalities, universities, agricultural engineers and agricultural technicians, and landscape architects attanded to the meeting. A roadmap that will increase awareness on urban agriculture and develop cooperation between institutions was discussed at the meeting. 

Ankara Urban Agriculture Strategy 

Dr. Coşkun Şerefoğlu, one of the experts from Ankara Development Agency's Rural Development Unit, made a presentation on recent studies on examples from the World and Turkey. Then, ideas were exchanged with the participants. The meeting, which proceeded under the guidance of Ankara Urban Agriculture Strategy prepared in 2020, held discussions on the topics of legislation, cooperation, food entrepreneurship, financing, organization, technology, and sustainability
