Food Safety and Water Workshop Held

Within the scope of 2024-2028 Ankara Regional Plan stakeholder studies, a workshop was held with the participation of stakeholder institutions and organizations on “Food Safety-Water” issues, hosted by Ankara Development Agency. Workshop; It was held with the participation of 50 people, including Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution, TURKSTAT, General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works, TTGV, Tarla.io, Agriculture and Forestry Provincial/District Directorates, municipalities, universities, non-governmental organizations, technopark and private sector representatives. 

The meeting started with an informative presentation that includes current studies and current data on agriculture-food-water issues, prepared to inform the participants. In the desk studies done by dividing into four groups; climate change, food waste, access to healthy water, agricultural production and livestock were evaluated in detail. Within the framework of food security and water, the vulnerabilities and potentials for the capital Ankara were determined through the concepts of “resilience” and “sufficiency/dependecny” in the context of the future perspective.

At the meeting, solutions and actions were prepared for the identified vulnerabilities and potentials. With the agriculture-food-water themed activities carried out by Ankara Development Agency, it is aimed to raise awareness in the city, to provide coordination between local actors and to develop cooperation.
