TechAnkara Maker Program Hackidhon Technology and Coding Competition 2024 Award Ceremony

TechAnkara Maker Program Hackidhon Technology and Coding Competition was held at TED University between 24-25 May 2024, under the coordination of Ankara Development Agency, in cooperation with Bilişim Garajı and TED University.

Secondary school students in the age group of 8-14, determined for the competition, received training on using problem solving, critical and algorithmic thinking skills and developed innovative solutions to reduce the negative effects of natural disasters using Arduino, electronic circuit elements and mBlock programs under the theme of Reducing the Negative Effects of Natural Disasters. Within the scope of the TechAnkara Maker Program Hackidhon competition, students presented solutions appropriate to the given problem situation, using technological tools in line with the training they received from the Informatics Garage.

Announcements were made to secondary schools in Ankara with the support of Ankara Provincial Directorate of National Education and District National Education Directorates. In addition, promotions and announcements were made through our Agency and Bilişim Garaj websites and social media accounts, ensuring that large audiences were informed about the competition. Additionally, some schools were visited and an information seminar and promotion of the competition were held in the meeting halls. Speaking at the award ceremony, Ankara Development Agency Deputy Secretary General Emine Doğrukök said that in order to raise awareness and encourage our people, especially our children and youth, who are the guarantee of our future; He stated that he hopes that the social benefit created by our competition, which strives to move them from technology consumers to game producers, will grow and multiply.

Within the scope of the TechAnkara Maker Program Hackidhon Technology and Coding Competition, two different categories were organized, on the first day of the event, on May 24, 42 teams for private schools with a total of 126 students (each team included a teacher), and on the second day of the event, on May 25, 34 teams for public schools. A total of 102 students (each team included a teacher) competed. As a result of the final evaluation of the two-day competition event, which included exciting and colorful scenes, the grades of the students in the secondary school category were determined and the awards were found.
