The “Project Capacity Development Program of Local Actors” designed by our agency in cooperation with the Turkish National Agency was carried out with great interest from participants.

On May 4th and 5th, representatives from public institutions, local governments, civil society organizations, universities and university students operating in the surrounding districts of Ankara participated to the program. On the first day of the two-day program, our agency provided online training on basic project cycle management. On May 5th, 2023, experts from the Turkish National Agency conducted face-to-face training on the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programs.

Project Preparation Capacity Will Be Increased in Surrounding Districts

Speaking at the opening of the second day of the program, Ankara Development Agency General Secretary Dr. Cahit Çelik gave information about the Agency's activities. He emphasized that the agency carries out activities to implement approaches and programs that will develop sustainable agriculture and food systems in the surrounding districts, increase professional competence and increase employment of young people and disadvantaged group in rural areas.

Great Interest to the Program

Within the scope of the two-day program, on May 4, 2023, the participants were informed about the logic and processes of project preparation through the basic project cycle management training given online by Ankara Development Agency. On the second day of the training, simultaneous face-to-face trainings were held at our Agency and the Turkish National Agency service buildings, enabling institutions/organizations and young people to learn about Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Program (ESC). 66 participants consisting of district governorship and municipality project teams, national education directorate and affiliated schools, health, agriculture and forestry directorates, public education centres, representatives of chambers of commerce and agriculture, representatives of vocational schools as well as young people volunteering to carry out EU projects, showed great interest to the program.  Applied trainings according to the needs of participants were also provided for the preparation of “cooperation partnerships” and “small-scale partnerships” projects in the field of “school education", "vocational education", "adult education" and “youth”.

The program is expected to increase project applications from surrounding districts to Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Program (ESC) programs, whose applications will be completed on October 4, 2023. Ankara Development Agency district responsible experts will also support the project capacity development of the districts. It is envisaged that the studies and cooperation efforts that will enable the surrounding districts to benefit from the national and international funding sources to the maximum extent will continue.
